Pilgrims Hospices Divas On Wheels Charity Cycle Ride

Once in a while a truly special event comes along. The people of Kent have such a ride in August, the wonderful Divas on Wheels, an event which began six years ago with the aim to promote cycling to the female community and to raise funds for their local hospices. Each year the ride has become increasingly popular and we can comfortably say that our aim has been fulfilled. In 2018 Divas raised over £20,000 for Pilgrims Hospices to help them support those in the local community who are coping with incurable illnesses. Sunday 11th August 2019 sees the latest edition of the spectacular Divas on Wheels which will be hosted at The Independent Pedaler in Bridge, Canterbury and have the choices of a 25 mile or 50 mile circular route around the beautiful east Kent countryside and with 90% of the route being green, it is simply a lovely way to spend a Sunday.
Enjoy the picturesque Kent countryside, great fun and a supportive atmosphere. Be part of this ladies bike ride and help us be there for the next family who needs us. Setting out from The Independent Pedaler in Bridge, near Canterbury, you can choose to ride either a 25 mile or 50 mile route through the countryside on quiet roads. If you’re new to cycling have no fear, dozens of our special bike heroes will join you, leading small groups or offering roadside repairs to anyone who needs it. Together you can make a difference. Enjoy a great atmosphere, support along the route and plenty of pampering afterwards as you take part in the county’s only ladies bike ride for charity. A big thank you to our sponsors Pink Lady Apples and E-Flow Cycles who make this event possible.
There is also a Divas Village at The Independent Pedaler full of things to do and bits and pieces to buy, as well our on the day raffle. Our Divas can take advantage of a free massage and a spritz up your post-ride hair with our helmet hair remedy! There will be retail therapy opportunities with some fantastic suppliers and places to have a celebratory drink or bite to eat. There will also be live music from midday! So don’t rush off after your fantastic ride, enjoy the day and invite your family and friends to join you in your success!
