Evesham Cycle Festival

Bigger and better in its third year, Evesham CycleFest aims to offer events for everyone, from those just starting to pedal to the serious cyclist - on and off road. The cycling festival takes place over the weekend of the 10th & 11th September 2016 and is a fantastic event for all the family! Saturday of CycleFest showcases the new and improved mountain bike track at The Valley, with everyone welcome to come and give it a go. The format of this event is that each rider sets off individually and rides one lap (various lengths depending on age) of the course, with each rider getting two runs and their best time taken as the ranking. The rides include races for under 8s, under 10s, under 12s, under 14s & under 16 age groups as well as an adult novices & first timers race and an adult open race. If you’ve always wanted to have a go at mountain biking or would like to hone your skills then this is perfect for you! The event is held at a site with cafes, play area and steam railway so plenty to keep everyone entertained even if you’re not cycling. Entry fees for the mountain biking challenge are £6 for under 16s & £11 for adults. You can sign up via the British Cycling website here.
The website for cyclists of all ages and abilities. We aim to be the one stop resource for charity, fun and family ride listings. We also offer a place for cyclists to publish blogs about  your cycling experiences, touring stories and to showcase your recommended cycle friendly places to stay & activities.
Sunday provides a chance for cyclists of all ages to see the beautiful countryside around Evesham from their bike. Our youngest riders can take to a safe, off road, guided ride or take a 10, or 20 mile gentle ride with leaders. The Evesham Escapades sportives offer challenging 38 or 88 mile routes, showcasing some tough hills, and beautiful views. If you've never cycled the vale before, or think you know it all, you're in for a treat! The 38 mile route takes in one serious hill, and then an undulating landscape through some of the vales prettiest villages. The 88 mile route has two big climbs, and then takes you on a tour of the vale, with spectacular views. There is one feedstop on the short route and two on the long route, though there are also plenty of opportunities to stop elsewhere should you wish. Riders with disabilities are very welcome to participate, but please contact the organisers in advance. Sunday HQ allows you to be in Evesham centre in under 5 minutes walk - and thats going past playgrounds and the former abbey, where there will be market stalls for you to look around. So again, if you have family members not participating they will find plenty to do in the vicinity. Entry fees for both sportives is £24 (£30 on the day). You can sign up via the British Cycling website here. Evesham CycleFest is supporting Wallace House, a community centre in Evesham which provides low cost meeting rooms, sports hall and dojo for people of all ages, and Cycle Evesham Vale which campaigns for local cycling and aims to widen cycling participation. You can find out more about Wallace House by visiting their website. To find out more about the fantastic work Cycle Evesham Vale put into promoting cycling in the area just click on the icon below.
