This is a wonderful vintage cycling festival weekend, in which riding a bike is just part of the fun. Velo Retro is part of the Retro Rendezvous Festival which brings you one of the great weekend parties of the year! Food, music, vintage markets, dancing, film, vintage cars and motorcycles, beer and finally, some vintage bike riding too! It’s all based in the lovely south Cumbria market town of Ulverston – a great place for family and friends too! Once again, your bike should be pre 1987 and this really is an opportunity to dress up and play the part! There are three rides all taking place on Sunday 14th July:- The Saunter - 20km vintage and family ride. A circuit of the Lower Furness Peninsula taking in fine coastal views and some fell side country lanes. Le Loafeur - 47km A tour of Coniston Water, with fabulous lake and mountain views. One optional gravel section and fantastic food. A potter around Coniston Water on the flattest route we could design. À L’ancienne  - 84km retro bike challenge. A classic sample of all that is great in the South Lakes, rivers, lakes, climbs, castles, gravel, big views and great food! Entry fees (early bird price): Adult - The Saunter - £25 (Junior 8-17 -£16), Le Loafeur - £30, À L’ancienne - £35. One of the toughest off-road rides in the UK, the seriously challenging South Downs Way Off-Road Bike Ride is not to be missed. Follow the beautiful South Downs Way National Trail and put your physical and mental endurance levels to the test in this memorable off-road event. 100 miles, nearly 4,000 metres of climbing this ride will take you from Winchester through stunning countryside before finishing next to the seafront of the lovely seaside town of Eastbourne. The South Downs Way is one of the UK's 13 long distance, ancient pathways. Travelling 100 miles (160km) through the centre of the South Downs National Park from Winchester in Hampshire to Eastbourne in East Sussex. You'll enjoy stunning scenery throughout, with panoramic views off the steep northern escarpment and endless views across the coast. And although the South East of the UK is densely populated, it never feels like it on this ride, with an amazing feeling of space and freedom. You really are on a wild and epic adventure that has justifiably become a rite of passage for many a serious mountain biker. Make 2019 the year you conquer the monster - the South Downs Way Off-Road Bike Ride! Your ride includes:- GPX Route download, medical & mechanical support, free massage at the finish with a medal for all finishers. Welcome to the 2019 Great Weston Ride, a fabulous 57-mile challenge bike ride from Bristol to Weston-super -Mare that follows a spectacular route through the Mendips and across the Somerset Levels while raising funds for Prostate Cancer UK. The ride starts in Bristol and then weaves its way along the highways and byways of North Somerset, following a spectacular course through the Mendips and across the Somerset Levels, before finally finishing on the seafront in Weston-super-Mare. It's not a race, there's no official timing, and everyone's welcome to come along and sample the delights of the Somerset countryside en route to the coast - the objective is to enjoy the day and the sense of achievement that completing the ride will bring! The route itself is designed to appeal to everyone - experienced cyclists, recreational riders, commuters, and even non-cyclists who are willing to rise to a challenge. All you need is a bike, a bit of determination and a sense of adventure! And, of course, with the ride ending by the sea it's the perfect opportunity for friends and family to meet the riders at the finish line, celebrate their achievement and then enjoy a family day out on the beach. The ride itself takes place on predominantly quiet country roads, with a clearly-marked and marshalled route and full mechanical and medical support throughout. Official refreshment stops are also provided, and of course for those of a more leisurely disposition there will be many other opportunities to stop and sample the famous West Country hospitality and/or take in the breathtaking scenery! Entry fees: Adults £30.50, Under 16’s £16*. There will be a limit on the total number of places available for the 2019 Ride and please note that it is highly likely that the event will sell out in advance. Therefore, riders are advised to enter early to avoid possible disappointment. *There is no fundraising commitment associated with entry but all riders are encouraged to raise what they can for our charity partner.

The Brewdog Sportive is a fantastic adventure along the North East coast of Scotland and surrounds from one of the best and biggest breweries in the world. With two distances of 38 and 65 miles this sportive is for everyone! The event HQ is the Brewdog Brewery in Ellon. Join us for this superb sportive on mainly quiet country roads and through some stunning countryside. For the 38 mile course you will head out from HQ towards Bearnie, Arthrath and onto Hatton before reaching Teuchan. From here you’ll head southbound Slains Castle and Cruden Bay, continuing along the coast to Collieston before turning westwards, through Auchmacoy and back to HQ. The 65 mile route follows much the same course but also includes cycling through Udny Green, onto Methlick and then following the River Ythan on the last few miles back to HQ. What’s included: Event centre facilities and parking, mechanical and medical support, full route marking, rider public liability insurance, feed stops en-route, pick up wagons, onsite catering, event photography by MJF Photography, a free beer or soft drink and a burger and food and refreshments for sale at the finish. Fun Ride - 38 miles, Challenge Ride - 65 miles Registration fees: TBC
The Bronte Sportive, organised by the Manorlands cycling events group, is a challenging cycling event in the heart of the West Yorkshire Pennines. All entry fees go towards supporting Sue Ryder’s care at Manorlands Hospice. All the routes will start and finish at our Leeds City College Keighley Campus HQ. As in previous years, there will be four routes to suit all abilities: Anne (29.2 miles), Emily (50.3 miles), Charlotte (74.5 miles) and Heathcliff (93.1 miles). Though by no means the longest sportive, the Heathcliff route, also known as the Bronte Monster, is recognised as being mile for mile one of the toughest sportives in the UK. Entry Fees (Early Bird): Adult: £20. Entry Fees (Early Bird): Adult: Team of four £75. There is no minimum fundraising target but we really appreciate those who do raise sponsorship. Those who raise £50 or more will be entered into a draw to win a £100 voucher from All Terrain Cycles.
