Summertime challenges

One of the toughest off-road rides in the UK, the seriously challenging South Downs Way Off-Road Bike Ride is not to be missed. Choose from 35 or 100 mile routes. This ride is a complete test of mental and physical endurance. Depending on your chosen route, this ride will take you from either Winchester or Devil’s Dyke through stunning countryside before finishing next to the seafront of the lovely seaside town of Eastbourne. 35 mile route - may be shorter in distance but it still has a significant climb, and is a high intensity climb bike ride. 100 mile route – the long South Downs Way National Trail follows the routes and tracks along the chalk escarpment and ridges of the South Downs. With breathtaking views along the entire route and a finish location right by the seafront. Your ride includes:- GPX Route download, medical & mechanical support, free massage at the finish with a medal for all finishers. Entry fees: Standard pricing - Adult 35 mile route £25, 100 mile route £35. Under 18’s: (35 mile route only) £25 You must be 18 years old to take part in the 100 mile route, and 16 years or over to take part in the 35 mile ride.

This is a wonderful vintage cycling festival weekend, in which riding a bike is just part of the fun. Velo Retro is part of the Retro Rendezvous Festival which brings you one of the great weekend parties of the year! Food, music, vintage markets, dancing, film, vintage cars and motorcycles, beer and finally, some vintage bike riding too! It’s all based in the lovely south Cumbria market town of Ulverston – a great place for family and friends too! Once again, your bike should be pre 1987 and this really is an opportunity to dress up and play the part! There are three rides over this fantastic weekend:- Le Loafeur (16th July) - 46.7km with 576m of climbing. A potter around Coniston Water on the flattest route we could design. À L’ancienne (16th July) - 83.8km with 1,204m of climbing and supported by great food and finished with local beer and pies! The Mighty Corinthian (15th July) - 301km with 4,139m of climbing. The ultimate one-day cycling classic! Entry fees: Le Loafeur - £26, À L’ancienne - £31, The Mighty Corinthian £70. Riders have to be over 16 years old as of 14th July 2017 to take part in Le Loafer & À L’ancienne and over 18 years old for The Mighty Corinthian. You're invited to a very special birthday party this July. In 2017 the famous town of Milton Keynes turns 50, and to mark the occasion, we've given one of our popular bike rides an extra special revamp so that cyclists of all ages can come and join the celebrations. With on and off-road routes, each of which has a 50 km or 50 mile option to choose from, and a children's ride, there truly is something for cyclists of all ages and abilities on this unique 2 wheeled day out. Formerly known as the South Wales Bike Ride, this popular event has been thrilling and challenging cyclists on beautiful routes through the Gower Peninsula for over 25 years. Choose from either 12 miles, 28 miles or 46 mile routes and join us in the fight against heart disease. With three routes available, all of which take in some stunning views, this truly is a cycling day out for cyclists of all ages and abilities.  All routes are circular, starting and finishing in Swansea and have numerous places to stop along the way for rest and refreshment. Set on the beautiful North Wales coast, the North Wales Coast Bikeathon is an ideal day out for families and everyone. It is an 8 miles leisurely bike ride along Cycle Route 5 of the National Cycle Path, hugging the shoreline making it safe for a family ride. Riders ranging from 5 to 75 years old have cycled across the beautiful North Wales coast from Prestatyn to Abergele then after the break returned by the same route. A total distance of 16 miles. Sign up now and join our Bloodwise cycling team and be part of a community of thousands taking on challenges all around the country, for one common goal: beating blood cancer. It’s back and better than ever! Featuring the same fantastic routes from 2015 & 2016, the Wiggle Birmingham Bikeathon, in association with Bloodwise, is a great day out for riders of all ages and abilities. With three routes to choose from – 26, 52 and 100 miles – you can get the family together for a leisurely summer cycle or, if you fancy more of a challenge, sign up for our longer ride out into the beautiful Cotswolds countryside. There’s always a great festival atmosphere and you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing that with every mile you’re helping us in our fight against blood cancer. Entry starts from just £20 but we ask that you raise as much money as you can – every penny makes a huge difference to the lives of blood cancer patients.  Your fee includes your Bloodwise t-shirt and, of course, your hard-earned medal. Entry fees: Adult: 26 mile route £20, 52 mile route £25, 100 mile route £30. Child 26 or 52 mile route £10.
Take part in our Pedal for Parkinson's event at Ripley Castle this summer and help keep the wheels turning for Parkinson’s research and support. Help us reach our goal of £100,000 from our Pedal for Parkinson's series, and bring forward the day when no one fears Parkinson's. With a choice of our 20-mile blast, 40-mile blaze or 60-mile burn routes though the stunning Yorkshire countryside, there's a distance to suit everyone. We will also be holding a Walk to Parkinson's on the same day at Ripley Castle so it's a perfect event to get all the family involved in. Start and finish: Ripley Castle, Harrogate. All our cyclists will receive the very best support from us, including: downloadable GPX route file, fully signposted route, chip timing, bike mechanic support, refreshments en route, post race leg massage and fun family games at the charity village. Entry fee:  Adult £25, Under 16’s £10. Sponsorship: There's no minimum sponsorship but we ask that each cyclist tries to raise at least £100.

Join us on our popular annual bike ride in the Heart of England organised by the Knowle and Dorridge Lions. Starting and finishing at Packwood House, Solihull, use your pedal power to weave through the scenic country lanes of Warwickshire. Choose your challenge with the choice of 12, 18, 30 or 60 mile routes. Your family and friends could be part of the action as well. Why not ask them to take part with you, or they could come and cheer you on! Join us for this summertime event and become a #HeartRider! Entry fees: Advance - Adult £12, Under 18’s £6. On the Day: Adults 18, Under 18’s £9. Please note that 30% of all net proceeds from this event will be retained by the Knowle and Dorridge Lions Club to donate to local causes.

Join the fight for every heartbeat this July with a bike ride at the famous Goodwood Motor Circuit. This event is suitable for all abilities and participants can cycle as many laps as they like. It's a great event for everyone - why not bring your family and friends along for a fun-filled day out! Join us on a 2.4 mile cycle around the famous motor circuit. Riders can complete as many laps as they wish, the most completed is up to 50 (120 miles!). Please note this event is wheelchair accessible except for limited spectator viewing. The Goodwood Motor Circuit is 2.4 miles of mainly flat tarmac surface.  This event is suitable for all abilities. Cycle helmets are recommended to be worn when participating in this event. The event is marshalled and first aid personnel will be available. Entry fees: Adult £15, Under 16’s £5, Family (2 adults & up to 3 children) £30, Team of four adults £50.
