Get together with your family and friends and join us for a cycling fun day as the Three Counties Cycle Ride hits the road again on Sunday 2nd June. There are three picturesque routes - 54 miles for the regular and experienced riders, a medium route of 33 miles and a short route of 15 miles for families with younger children all starting and finishing at Garth Hill College in Bracknell. Of course anyone is welcome to ride any of the routes – the choice is yours depending on your circumstances and how far you feel you want to cycle. In 2019 we are fundraising for the following charities, Thames Valley Air Ambulance, Breakthrough Learning and the Bracknell Night Shelter. You, your family and friends are invited to help us to raise over £20,000 for these important local charities by taking on our Berkshire - Oxfordshire - Buckinghamshire counties cycle ride. Photos from previous events can be found here. Your ride includes:- fully signposted and marshalled route, refreshment points and a medal for all finishers. Entry fees: Adults £19, Under 16’s £9 (advance booking). You can also pay on the day Adult £25, Under 16’s £9. The Three Dales Mountain Bike Challenge, organised by the Manorlands Cycling Events Fundraising Group and sponsored by All Terrain Cycles, is an exciting mountain bike challenge for all standards of mountain bike and cyclo-cross riders. All entry fees go towards supporting Sue Ryder’s care at Manorlands Hospice, which stretches right up into these three dales through our community nursing team. There are three routes: one for hardcore experienced riders, one for intermediates, and one for relative beginners and families. The Wharfe: This route is a 12.8-mile ride with 1080 cumulative foot of climbs. The route takes participants along the back roads from Grassington to Conistone and then joins the route taken by the Ribble and Aire riders back to Grassington. It then tackles one more hill before descending through Hebden Ghyll and then returns back by road to the start point. The Aire: This is a testing intermediate route of almost 25.2 miles and 2390 cumulative foot of climbs. The route heads east out of Threshfield and almost reaches Malham Tarn before turning right along the path known as Hawkswick Clowder. On reaching Hawkswick there is then a road section to Conistone and then the final two hills before it descends the Hebden Ghyll and goes back to the start point. The Ribble: This may well become known as the ter-Ribble as it is 39.5 miles long and climbs over 4,000 cumulative feet. The route heads east out of Threshfield, passing Malham Tarn before descending into Langcliffe and Settle. It then turns back up Stockdale Lane, passes Malham Tarn in the other direction and then heads left along the path known as Hawkswick Clowder. On reaching Hawkswick, there is then a road section to Conistone and then the final two hills before it descends the Hebden Ghyll and returns to the start point. Hunts Cider is based on a beautiful farm in the South Devon countryside and produces one of the best, tastiest ciders in Devon and beyond. The Hunts Cider Sportive is based from their Cider Farm near the stunning village of Stoke Gabriel and has two distances of 48km (30 miles) and 81km (50 miles) to appeal to all abilities. There will be plenty of opportunity to taste the notoriuosly good Hunts Cider as well as great local food post ride! Hunts CIder is a family run business on a beautiful farm next to the village of Stoke Gabriel. The routes will take you north along rolling country lanes and, depending on whether you take on the half pint or the full pint, you will either skirt Dartmoor or take you on an epic loop into the moor.  Its then south back towards Totnes and finishing at the farm for lots of refresments and chatter. For those that want to make a weekend of it, there is camping available on both Friday and Saturday night so you can relax after the ride and enjoy the fine cider on offer and the live music. The Wadworth Brewery Sportive starts at the wonderful victorian brewery situated right in the heart of Wiltshire. The sportive takes you through the beautiful North Wessex Down, an area of outstanding natural beauty, along winding country lanes and past stunning little villages. This Sportive has two distances of 25 and 50 miles to accommodates all abilities! The 25 mile circular route takes you through some stunning countryside and through the lovely picturebox villages of Chirton, Potterne and past the locks at Rowde before heading back to Devizes. The 50 mile route is a figure of eight also starting in Devizes which also takes you past thatched cottages in Lockeridge, on quiet country lanes towards Marlborough before heading through Pewsey and on the way back to the HQ in Devizes and some well earning refreshments! The Wirral Bikeathon is a 14 or 28 mile ride around the Wirral and Arrowe Country Park, which is the start, mid-point and finish area. The terrain is on and off road following well designated roads and country paths. The event is suitable for all ages and disabilities using suitable equipment. All children must be accompanied and those under 8 are not allowed to ride independently - suitable tag-a-longs, child seats or trailers must be used. All riders are encouraged to wear helmets. This is our twenty-first event and to date we have raised £970,000 to help vital vital blood cancer research and support for those affected. This year we're hoping to make the million pound breakthrough. We'd love it if you could help us reach this milestone! Refreshments are available in the start area, Red Room Cafe provides hot food and riders and their families can enjoy live music provided by local bands. The Mayor of Wirral will be starting this year's event, which kicks off from Arrowe Country Park, which also serves as the midpoint and finish. Ride for Ryder – The Sportive cycling event is back in 2019 for our 31st year. 2018 saw us raise over £50,000 for the hospice which was incredible. We warmly invite new participants and encourage all past participants to join us on Sunday 23rd June 2019. The Sportive offers a fun event for all with signed routes around Gloucestershire’s glorious countryside, all in support of local hospice care. Starting and finishing from top-class sporting facilities at Dean Close School in Cheltenham, we’re offering a choice of three sportive challenges – a 40km beginner route, an intermediate 90km route and a 130km route for more experienced cyclists. Included in your registration fee is a welcome pack with registration and rider support from our partners British Cycling, a fully signed route with feed station, and medical and mechanical support, and a finisher’s medal. Your entry fee covers the cost of operating the event, but it’s your vital sponsorship money that helps Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice support people at a time they need it most. Refreshments are available in the start area, Red Room Cafe provides hot food and riders and their families can enjoy live music provided by local bands. The Mayor of Wirral will be starting this year's event, which kicks off from Arrowe Country Park, which also serves as the midpoint and finish. Ride for Ryder – The Sportive cycling event is back in 2019 for our 31st year. 2018 saw us raise over £50,000 for the hospice which was incredible. We warmly invite new participants and encourage all past participants to join us on Sunday 23rd June 2019. The Sportive offers a fun event for all with signed routes around Gloucestershire’s glorious countryside, all in support of local hospice care. Starting and finishing from top-class sporting facilities at Dean Close School in Cheltenham, we’re offering a choice of three sportive challenges – a 40km beginner route, an intermediate 90km route and a 130km route for more experienced cyclists. Included in your registration fee is a welcome pack with registration and rider support from our partners British Cycling, a fully signed route with feed station, and medical and mechanical support, and a finisher’s medal. Your entry fee covers the cost of operating the event, but it’s your vital sponsorship money that helps Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice support people at a time they need it most. For all those who raise £140 or over, the cost of a nurse for the day at Leckhampton Court Hospice, you'll be able to claim one of our Sue Ryder Cycling Jerseys.
