11 in 11 Challenge

In September 2015 we followed a group of five intrepid firefighters from South Yorkshire as they took on the amazing challenge of cycling through 11 countries in 11 days. They will be covering a total of 1,200 miles, starting in Budapest riding through Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, Austria (where they’ll take on the highest alpine pass, the mighty Grossglockner), Germany, France, Luxembourg, Belgium and Holland before heading back to the UK, ultimately finishing in Barnsley, Yorkshire. They began their journey on the 15th September and you can how the got on by follow their touring diary by clicking here. They are keeping the 11 theme going by trying to raise £11.000 to be split between two very deserving charities, The Candlelighters Trust and Barnsley Hospice. If you are in a position to help them reach their target please click here to visit the team’s Virgin Giving sponsorship page. Every pound will make a difference so please help if you can.

In April 2014, Dan Canning and his partner Terri faced the traumatic experience of having a stillborn child (Isabelle). They decided to become proactive in raising awareness by raising money to donate to the stillbirth and neonatal death charity Sands (who work with anyone affected by the death of a baby and promote research to reduce the loss of babies’ lives).  In August 2015, Dan & six friends and family took on the daunting challenge of Lands’ End to John O’Groats over ten days while trying to raise £10,000 for Sands and we followed them every step of the way thanks to daily updates from Dan’s brother Tom. The story of their epic challenge can be found here.
